Geoff(erson) Davis' racist comment, and the pathetic excuses of the right

(crossposted at DailyKos)

As you've surely heard by now, Geoff Davis referred to Barack Obama as "boy" over the weekend, the long-time racist code word for blacks. Today he issued his "apology".

The right-wingers are already mounting their pathetic response, excusing this insulting remark.

The first one is that he was only highlighting his youth. You know, he only did it because Barack is sooooooo young. Well, Davis is 49, and Obama is 46, so I'll go ahead and call bullshit on that.

The second excuse is that Barack has soooo little foreign policy experience compared to the serious sages like Davis. This is coming from the man who called the Congressman with the most foreign policy experience and respect in the chamber "despicable, dishonorable, uninformed, unhistorical, anti-intellectual and, frankly, un-American". I think we can all can agree that Davis doesn't know Shiite from Shit.

The third, and most pathetic excuse is that Davis is a "good ole Southern boy", that Southerners use the phrase liberally to describe each other as a term of affection.

So Davis is some kind of Southerner? Really?

Where was Geoff Davis Geoff born and raised? In friggin Canada.

Where did he go to college? In the good ole southern town of Pittsburgh.

This cannot simply be dismissed as a slip of the tongue due to his southern upbringing. He is a Northern carpetbagger, through and through. This is an unmistakable code word, and it was quite deliberate.

The only thing that Geoff Davis is sorry for is that he got caught. Period.

Btw, you might not know it due to the KDP's bizarre snubbing of him, But democrat Michael Kelley is running against Davis this Fall, despite the KDP trying to get him out of the race so Davis could run unopposed. Check him out, and feel free to give him KY turkey.

It's hard for me to consider Louisville "southern," much less Northern Kentucky. Hot damn, they sound like midwesterners when they talk!
