It's been over 3 months since Newberry Canyon has been touched.... I'd say that 3 years may be a possibility.

To every thing there is a season. I don't like eminent domain either, but this a perfect time. In fact, I think all the leaders of the Save Our Block stuff should seriously consider making this their new crusade.
Anything is better than a big-ass eyesore (be it a canyon or a vertical Lexington Mall).
regarding Eblen's remarks..
The name of the hole in Lexington's Center should be inclusive of Webb's.
Is Newberry/Webb Canyon OK? The extended name should be shared anytime and everytime the mayor or Webbs are seen in public. So should the Webb's "accidently" destruction of two elderly women's building and business now where their MULTI MILLION DOLLAR FAILURE, Festival Market, sits.
What Newberry and Webbs decided in private will be a scar on Lexington's face and history regardless what goes in the hole.
I hope it is nowhere near the scar Scotty Baesler and Pam Miller put where the Kentucky Hotel sat. That is the hedious transit center where nothing is above High Street level.
